Breaking with all conventional rules and thought, Azniv Afsar has developed her own individual style, blending contemporary innovation with proven classical ideals.
Azniv Afsar has never allowed herself to be dictated to by fleeting seasonal fashions, choosing instead to follow her own feelings. She considers herself more of a creator than a stylist. Each and every item of clothing is, for her, an intimate piece; a reflection of personality.
Inheriting her grandparents skills as Armenian weavers, Azniv Afsar cannot help but have an eye for craftsmanship. Azniv Afsar has a high regard for the particular qualities of materials and adores beautiful form. Her perfectionism demands high quality finishes that guarantee durability. Her works are created to outlive the passing whims of changing fashion.
The cut of Azniv Afsar's work is comparable to that of an architect. The recurrence of asymmetry is often to be found in her geometric, intricate designs. Despite her pursuit of the perfectly balanced silhouette, Azniv Afsar does not avoid confronting wool with modern fabrics or even transparent materials.
When not devoting herself entirely to fashion, Azniv Afsar concentrates her energy in painting, sculpture, interior design and the creation of theatrical costumes.
